For Kids — Say Cheese!

A healthy mouth is an important part of a healthy body. We need strong teeth to be able to chew the foods that help us grow!
Healthy teeth also help us speak correctly and show off our smiles for pictures. The first step to healthy teeth is brushing and flossing.

Follow these tips to keep your teeth clean:

  1. Choose healthy snacks. Fruit, vegetables, and cheese are great foods for your body and teeth!

  2. Brush at least twice a day. Try to brush after breakfast, before bed, and after sweet snacks.

  3. Brush ALL your teeth, not just the front ones. It’s important to clean the teeth along the sides and back of your mouth, too!

  4. Brush for at least two to three minutes.Use a timer or play your favorite song so you know when two minutes are up.

  5. Floss every night. Flossing gets rid of food stuck between your teeth that your toothbrush can’t reach.

  6. Don’t be afraid to ask for help—brushing teeth with your parents can be fun!
